Project Overview
Supply and installation of 7 steel gantries on the New M5, one of the busiest motorways connecting East and West Sydney..

• Key objective of the project is to control traffic flow and facilitate motorway users a safe and convenient journey especially during peak hours using Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS).
• Major challenges faced are; oversized structures of the gantries that weren’t possible for galvanising and transportation, and installation of two giant walkway structures (one consists of a 47.5m long overhead span and the other with 56m long overhead span).
• Approximately a total number 250 splice joints proposed by Aus Group on the above two giant structures to be added to original design with 3rd party independent certified on structural integrity.
• 47.5m long overhead span structure (weighs approx. 60 T) was carried out in single lift installation using a 450 T cranage.
